Biography

Kelsey Daly has been around art her entire life and has always had a passion for it. She began her art career when she was very young. Being a part of the Fine Arts classes during her K-12 years allowed her to discover the things she enjoys creating. Currently, she is studying for a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, focusing on the electronic track, with a minor in Marketing at the University of Cincinnati within the Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning School (DAAP). She loves to learn how to use new materials and apply what she learned to her pieces. She has worked at Busy Bees Pottery and Arts Studio where she learned how to use many different art materials as a studio assistant. She spent a whole semester with the Experiential Explorations Program where she learned how to use numerous Adobe Suite Programs. She has been a part of a couple of student art exhibitions, which showcased her work over the years. She also had one of her pieces selected by one of her professors to be shown in an exhibition where only two students per class could be chosen.

Artist Statement

My Practice consists of family-oriented drawings and illustrations. I work with digital media as well as dry mediums such as graphite and acrylic paint. I explore the intricate bonds that define our lives, none more profound than the ties of family. Family, for me, is the bedrock of our existence, shaping our identities, values, and dreams. It is within the family unit that we first learn about love, trust, and the essence of human connection. My pieces are a reflection of personal experiences, memories, and the shared moments that create the fabric of family life. I had an amazing childhood growing up and the main reason behind that is because of my family. I want viewers and audiences to feel the joy that was used to create my pieces. One piece that I made for my parents in 2021 is my favorite piece to date. A Day To Remember was a gift for my mother from my father for their 25th wedding anniversary. It is a graphite drawing of them on their wedding day holding hands. It holds a special place in mine and my parent’s hearts. I aim to portray the beauty in everyday interactions, the unspoken understanding between siblings and the wisdom passed down through generations. I believe that emphasizing the importance of family can remind us of our shared humanity and the connections that bind us. My art is a celebration of these bonds, a tribute to the people who shape our lives in the most meaningful ways.
